Did you notice that Netflix auto-plays the content you scroll over or did you see the countdown to play the next episode as soon as the last one gets over? Netflix doesn't want your flow to break while you are watching a new season. Sometimes users like to see the credits roll while they are thinking about what they have watched.
However, some users find this feature quite annoying. Fortunately, there is a way to turn off autoplay on Netflix. Here, you are going to learn how to stop Netflix's annoying autoplay.
In the world of online streaming, the number of hours spent is the currency. Netflix has come up with an argument to support their statement, which states that they just want to provide a smooth video viewing experience to the user.
By doing this, they are serving their business interests and alluring more and more viewers to pay for the subscription. You will be surprised to know how auto-playing can impact the traffic on your streaming platform.
So, how can you make people watch more content, when they don't want to watch it anymore? You just need to take a finite and limited experience and then change it into one continuous stream.
This is the main reason why Netflix autoplay the next video instead of waiting for you to play the next episode. Netflix has indeed conducted extensive research work to get to know the perfect length of the countdown clock. Recently, it introduced a play-something feature, which removes decision-making and keeps you engaged.
Open your web browser and then go to your Netflix account page. After that, open Profile and Parental Control settings. After that, scroll and then select the Change option given next to the Playback settings.
Then, uncheck the box given next to the "Autoplay the next episode in a series on all devices". Alternatively, you can uncheck the box of "Autoplay previews while browsing all your devices".
This will stop the auto-play of previews from your home screen. Keep in mind that if you disable the Autoplay previews feature, it won't stop Netflix from auto-playing a movie or series from the details page of your TV.
Once you are done, you must select Save. You must restart your device after the update. So, this is all you have to do to stop Netflix's annoying autoplay.
